Reverend Brien Nix Hall
Getting
to know your new Pastor:
Brien is an eighth generation resident of Sharp County. He is a graduate of Lyon college in Batesville with a B.S. in Health Care Administration. His Master of Divinity Degree comes from United Methodist Duke University in Tennessee. He also holds a Master of Science in Social Work Degree from Oxford University.
Brien is married to Julea Garner, whose great-grandparents operated a family store on Main Street in Hardy from the early 1900s and is now known as "Horrell's Furniture" in Highland. Julea is a family physician and operates the Garner Family Medical Clinic in Highland. She and Brien have one daughter, Lillie Garner Hall, age 5, who will be starting kindergarten at Highland this Fall.
Brien is eager about beginning his ministry in the Hardy area and looking forward to serving the people of the United Methodist Church as pastor.
"I find it a great honor to be serving the people of the Hardy United Methodist Church. There are so many positive, Spirit-led opportunities for this church right now and I consider myself truly blessed to be a part of this exciting and challenging time for the ministry of Christ.
There's a wonderful opportunity for our church to reach out to those in our community who are seeking a deeper presence of something that offers hope and a sense of purpose and family. God wants to be a part of our lives!
I find it so awesome how readily God stands to heal the broken hearted and transform life itself. The challenge we have is being ready to accept that call and willingness to serve as God's people in helping work together in reaching out to others in the love of Jesus Christ. Again, this a wonderful opportunity - and what greater place to begin God's Kingdom than right here in Hardy?
I want the people to always feel an open availability to their pastor. If an event ever arises where a pastoral presence is needed, I hope that everyone will know to freely call upon me at any time."
